Change Notification Format in MOM 2005

I found a discussion thread on www.momcommunity.com and thought that a summary would be helpfull in the future.
Here we go.

Problem
The Notification format in MOM 2005 cannot be edited within the Administrator Console, but , for example, pager notification, is the default Description way to long. You have to edit the Database in MOM to change the notification format. (NOT supported by Microsoft !)

Solution
Notification Format - The “EmailSubject” entry in the MOM (OnePoint) is ‘Operations Manager $%AlertLevel%52 $ Alert on $56 $\$55 $’

To make this change do the following:
1. Log into the database server and open SQL Server “Enterprise Manager”.
2. Expand the databases until you see “OnePoint”.
3. Expand the OnePoint database and select ‘Tables’
4. Right click the ‘Configuration’ table, select Open Table | Return All Rows.
5. Looking under the ‘DataName’ column and find the entry ‘EmailSubject’.
6. Staying in the same row, go to the column to the right of ‘DataName’ called ‘DataValue’ and change the entry.
7. Close the table and exit “Enterprise Manager”.

Possible Problems
You change the format and the Notification shows exact what you changed.

Reason
There is a space between the Variable Number and the last $.

Operations Manager $%AlertLevel%52 $ Alert on $56 $\$55 $
